This is the electricity system of KL tower.

This is the monitoring panel of the overall electricity system of the building which is installed in the basement and tower head. This is the simplified diagram version of the system. The building has 2 main source of power, genset and the TNB. There are 2 big systems, the first to supply to the basements, ground, and upper ground, and the second is to supply electricity to the tower heads.

System number 1. From either one of the sources, the electricity goes to the step down travo, then to main switch board 1 and the distribution board. System number 2. From either one of the sources, the electricity goes to the 11kV Panel, step down travo, which then supplies to AirCon system, main switch boards 2 and 3, which goes to the distribution board.

This is the positioning of the components. genset, step up travo, TNB supply and step down travo are located in the ground floor. The main switch board 1 and distribution board is located in the basement 1. 11kv panel and another set of step down travo are located in the tower head level 5. Air con system and main switch board 2 are located in Tower head level 5, while main switch board 3 is located in Tower head level 6.

This is the ground floor plan, the blue color indicates electrical system. num 6 is power room, num 7 is 11kv panel room, num 8 is travo room, and num 9 is electricity passage which is located in every floor except in the tower shaft.

Genset. As a backup supply, it could produce 415V 50hz 3 phase electricity.

MSB 1 is located in the basement and to supply electricity from basement up to T13, fire fighting, security system, Aircon, lift S1, street lighting, escalators, etc.

MSB 2 is located in TH 05 and to supply electricity from T14 up to TH04, gondola, all lifts, telekom equipments.

MSB 3 is to supply electricity to RTM equipments.
